Rooster Potholder (mostly for display)
I'm looking for input. I am trying to make a gift for someone. This is a rooster/chicken potholder. It's meant mostly for display but could be used. Is it cool? Weird? Dorky? Need some work to be cool? I am going to add button eyes...What do you think?

Pinterest to the rescue
I had an idea and decided to try it. I hadn't tried this with the button whole stitch before. I plan on stringing them together with some of the below; I am not sure yet which I will use.
Using Pinterest to make my project! Here are some pieces, I will post again when it's done.

Christmas Village Back Drop
Christmas Village
My Christmas Village was in need of a background.
I had 2 little girls who needed some direction for their energy.
Ah Ha!!!!
So I cut out enough for them both to have 2 which was also the amount I needed to cover the back of my shelf.
One little girl mostly ran around and when she colored, she colored on the backs of the papers.
But the other little girl was quite industrious and made me 1 beautiful tree. Next week I think that I will let them glue cotton balls and beads onto the trees.
One thing at a time.
:)
Merry Christmas all!

First Attempt at "School"
Bringing the crayons to the table.
Sitting up to count: 1, 2 Hippos.
No. There are not 3.
We did make it to 4, eventually.
Dale wanted to do "school" too but was too tired.
Taping 4 lions on her page.
I wanted to get to 5 today but thought that my head might explode if we continued so we moved on to reading counting books and watching the Baby Einstein Numbers video.
Hand-Traced Cards
Dale wanted to help too, but his hands wont do what he wants yet. Maybe in a few months, but then he will probably just try to eat the crayons.
Jes is happily coloring on the cards after we traced her's and brother's hand prints on it.
Here are the 3 cards we made:
Just coloring on the front wasn't enough on this one.

Work Around the House
Josh had time to work at our house. We have been wanting the cherry tree down for a while, so it worked out that he needed to move it for the boom truck to get up the drive way with our roofing.
It sure cleaned up quickly and the neighbor wanted the firewood so it worked out well for both of us.
Josh taking down part of another tree.
The roof all cleaned off and ready to go.
Josh doing his circus balancing act...
The sun through the trees...one last time.
When it's all said and done, there is a lot to clean up still!
